Using Technology to Enhance Competency Development

  • Sandra Vaughn, Metrix

Consider this? You are tasked with a new competency-based training initiative that has multiple targets, all with different skills, defined roles, functions and responsibilities. The design must incorporate a blended approach and provide a relevant and valuable learner experience to everyone who takes the training. It must be deployed as a web-based application with the flexibility of being scalable and updated in the future. There can only be on iteration, and you only have 3 months to make it all happen.

Join this session to explore the key success factors of designing and developing a comprehensive and standardized training curriculum to enhance the skills and performance of learners with a wide range of functions. We will explore the framework and approaches used to deploy a program that is customizable and flexible to grow with the needs of the learner. With an interactive demonstration of a featured module, you will learn how to integrate a blended approach of training modalities (including videos, "real-world" scenarios and knowledge checks) to increase learner engagement and performance results.
