Susan Hendrich is Global Oncology Learning Director at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. As a leadership and learning expert with over 20 years’ experience, Susan successfully led learning development and change management in business, technology and human service teams. Susan infuses her passion for leadership and learning with a relentless pursuit of excellence toward improving the lives of patients with cancer. She firmly believes that within our lifetime, cancer can become a chronic disease rather than a life sentence.
Susan has provided instructional design and leadership consultation to globally recognized organizations, including the Academy of Natural Sciences, Bayer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Delaware Art Museum, GlaxoSmithKline, NovoNordisk, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Pew Charitable Trusts, The Smithsonian Institution - National Museum of Natural History, and Vanguard. She taught Leadership, Management, and Learning Strategies courses at several major universities, and facilitated hundreds of workshops for corporate, non-profit, and military teams throughout the US and Canada. Susan was an invited speaker at the World Congress on Mental Health.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Penn State University, Susan earned masters and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology. She completed her internship and post-doctoral training at Wichita State University and the University of Kansas, School of Medicine.
Living in Wilmington, Delaware, Susan enjoys traveling with her family, career coaching, photography, graphic design, and interior decorating. As a volunteer, Susan has received several American Red Cross Commendations for disaster relief service.
Susan’s motto is Ganbatte kudasai! (Japanese for, “Always try your best!”)
